Workforce Health & Reintegration Manager

Our Team 

At VistaPrint manufacturing facility in Venlo, we operate a vibrant site supporting 600+ team members—from shop-floor production operators, technicians, and warehouse logistics teams to office-based colleagues across Management, Finance, Operations, Customer Care, IT, and HR. You will join a collaborative HR department consisting of a HR Manager, 3 HR Business Partners, and 2 HR Operations specialists.

As a key new addition to our team, this role takes direct ownership of absence management and reintegration. You will serve as a compassionate guide for employees and line managers, navigate Dutch legislation in close partnership with our company doctor, analyze verzuim trends, and leverage automation and AI to simplify our processes and build a proactive health culture.

What You Will Do

• Serve as strategic advisor: Lead complex absence cases, advising employees, managers, the company doctor, and Safety & Quality teams.

• Coordinate on-site medical care: Organize weekly doctor hours and translate medical findings into clear employability plans.

• Ensure legal compliance: Protect the organization from UWV wage sanctions through 100% compliance with the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (WVP).

• Oversee reintegration coaching: Guide complex Track 1 and Track 2 (Spoor 1 & Spoor 2) cases, offering empathetic support and resolving workplace conflict.

• Manage external partners: Direct our self-insurance (eigenrisicodragerschap) partner to drive active claim recovery and timely interventions.

• Redesign workflows with AI: Partner with the People Systems & Automation team to automate intake, synthesize data, and remove administrative friction.

• Utilize data-driven prevention: Analyze absence trends to detect departmental patterns and deliver strategic recommendations to management.

• Coach managers on absence: Train line managers to hold empathetic, solution-focused discussions for frequent short-term absence and return-to-work plans.

• Develop health initiatives: Build light-duty job catalogs, support workplace accommodations, and lead vitality projects like PMOs.

Your Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in case management within operational, manufacturing, logistics, or comparable industrial environments (or equivalent experience; pure back-office administrative experience is not sufficient).

• Proven track record of lowering absence rates through proactive interventions and process improvements or equivalent experience.

• Practical expertise handling psychological claims, long-term illness, crisis management, and shop-floor dynamics or equivalent experience.

• Deep knowledge of the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (WVP) and UWV regulations.

• CROV® certification (Casemanager Regie op Verzuim), a comparable Dutch qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong tech affinity with experience or strong willingness to use GenAI tools, automated workflows, and HR dashboards.

• Fluency in Dutch and English with excellent empathetic communication and decisive judgment.

• Skilled at balancing competing priorities across employees, managers, doctors, the UWV, Works Council (OR), and HR.

Nice to Have

• Professional certification in ergonomics, occupational health management, or mediation.

• Experience with HR service management tools, AI case software, or Power BI dashboards.
