Our Team
As the Maintenance & Facility Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of approximately 25-30 employees, both direct and indirect reports. This team is responsible for all aspects of maintenance and facility services at our Venlo location. Together, we ensure that our daily operations run smoothly and that we continuously strive for improvement. You will report directly to the Senior Director Technical Services and work closely with various departments across the organization.
What You Will Do
The Maintenance & Facility Manager is the central figure in our technical and facilities organization. You will be responsible for leading your team and strategically planning for the future. Your key responsibilities include:

Leading the maintenance and facility team, coaching them to achieve their goals and enhance their expertise.

Developing and implementing a vision and strategy for asset management to optimally support our core business processes.

Managing all plant assets, from production equipment to buildings and grounds, including overseeing maintenance schedules and contractor relationships.

Developing and managing budgets for maintenance and facility services, flagging and correcting any deviations.

Ensuring safety and compliance by conducting mandatory inspections and implementing a comprehensive health and safety program.

Initiating and leading projects to improve efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint, such as installing solar panels or LED lighting.

Supporting the engineering department with the installation and relocation of equipment and ensuring a seamless handover to the maintenance team.

You hold an Engineering Degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or structural engineering).

You have 7-10+ years of technical supervisory/management experience, preferably in a zero-downtime environment.

You have a demonstrated ability to manage large projects and solve complex, large-scale problems.

You possess strong knowledge of and experience with relevant laws and regulations, such as electrical codes and occupational health & safety acts.

You have strong interpersonal skills, interacting effectively with both technical and non-technical people.

Leadership & Team Development: Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance and facilities team; set objectives, monitor performance, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Maintenance & Operations: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment, utilities, and building infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.). Ensure minimal downtime through effective asset management and planning.

Facility Management: Manage hard and soft services including security, catering, housekeeping, and office planning. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, inspections, and certifications (e.g., NEN3140).

Strategic Asset Management: Develop and execute long-term strategies for facility and equipment optimization, including sustainability initiatives (solar, LED lighting, energy reduction).

Project Support: Partner with engineering on new equipment installations, relocations, and infrastructure readiness, ensuring smooth handover to operations.

Safety & Compliance: Implement and oversee health and safety programs, conduct inspections, ensure compliance with laws and codes, and mitigate risks.

Financial Management: Develop and monitor budgets for maintenance and facilities; perform cost-control, reporting, and investment planning.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Coordinate with internal teams (SHE, Engineering, Real Estate) and external partners (suppliers, contractors, authorities) to ensure reliable and compliant services.
Nice to Have

Experience in a Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement environment.

Knowledge and experience with static electrical plants, including transformers, switchgear, and cable systems.

Practical experience in the application of global safeguarding standards.
