About the Role

As a Lead Engineer Technology, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and shaping the future of Vistaprint's manufacturing operations. Your expertise will ensure the successful scouting, testing, and implementation of new technologies and equipment across our global facilities.

This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence strategic decisions, and lead impactful projects that directly support new and existing products.

Your Responsibilities

• Technology Innovation & Research:
  • Scout, research, test, and validate new technologies and equipment for global manufacturing.
  • Stay current on industry trends through publications, trade shows, conferences, and vendor collaborations.
  • Travel is required. 
• Project Leadership:
  • Lead the development and approval of business cases for technology upgrades and new equipment.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and the end-to-end introduction of new technologies.
  • Plan and execute utility setups, equipment installations, and production area layouts.
• Safety, Testing & Training:
  • Ensure compliance with safety laws and company policies during installations.
  • Conduct acceptance tests (FAT, SAT) and oversee equipment performance validations.
  • Coordinate training for new equipment and processes to ensure seamless adoption.
• Collaboration & Expertise:
  • Act as an in-house technology expert and maintain Vistaprint’s technology roadmap.
  • Partner with teams across all plants, Global and Local Purchasing, and Category Teams to drive consistency and innovation.

What We’re Looking For

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in evaluating and installing new technology and equipment.
  • Experience in the printing industry is a strong advantage.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software, statistical analysis, and financial decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Personal Attributes:
  • A proactive and independent thinker who thrives in both team and solo environments.
  • A natural problem solver with excellent prioritization and decision-making abilities.

Everyone knows Vistaprint for its business cards. But what many people don’t know is that we print  much more than that. We print (almost) everything that can be printed: business cards, posters,  mugs, window stickers, flyers, cards, photo gifts, phone cases and much more. And it all takes place  in Venlo at our European automated production facility! This is a site of approx. 31,500 m2 where  around 500 employees work with nothing but modern, high-tech machines and the latest technology.
