This role leads the product function of the Australia, New Zealand and Singapore (ANZS) business. A key member of the senior leadership team, this role is responsible for the overall Product portfolio and strategy and has full P&L responsibility for the products, driving revenue growth through product lifecycle management and continual product optimisation.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Owning product lifecycle management: leading the end to end strategy for products across their lifecycle for the ANZS business:
    • Product vision: leading the development of our product vision, developing strategies to grow each product category, researching and understanding the market and consumer trends to predict changes in product demand
    • Launching new products: identifying new products and extension opportunities for existing products and leading projects to bring them to market from concept to design, sample production, testing, sourcing through third parties or working with internal manufacturing, working with go to market teams to position, launch and optimise.
    • Optimising product profitability: margin management and improvement through cost management, supply chain optimisation and pricing (see below).
    • Managing and improving product quality: interpreting customer satisfaction and competitor benchmarking to drive constant quality improvement initiatives.
    • Managing and improving delivery experience: working with supply chain teams and manufacturing to drive delivery timeliness improvements and optimise the unboxing experience.
  • Pricing: partner with pricing lead to develop list prices and discounting strategy of products.
  • Forecasting management: responsible for the demand side of the supply chain and manufacturing equation by forecasting sales volumes, and constantly improving that process to drive efficiency.
  • Investment business cases: Working with finance and manufacturing to develop cases for future capital investment to drive internally produced product development and enhancement.
  • Third party fulfilment: managing our network of third-party fulfillers – from sourcing them, negotiating and contracting with them, technical integration and leading their day to day relationships to ensure product quality and delivery timeliness.
  • Critical metrics and reporting: definition of yearly, quarterly, and monthly business goals for the Product organisation in the ANZS region and driving the team to deliver on those results. Conducting constant analysis and continuing to refine reporting to understand issues and find opportunities across the product sets.
  • Team management: Lead a team, including team members in different countries, and with matrixed reporting lines.
  • Operationalise ANZS Product business plans and contribute to the development of sub functional strategy.
  • Global community: Collaborating with product leaders across the global Vista community - sharing best practice, driving common goals with regards to process and technology enhancements etc.

 

What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience managing Category / Product in an ecommerce environment (essential).
  • Strong innovator/entrepreneur mindset with a track record of bringing products to market (essential)
  • Strong experience owning a P&L, managing margins, setting prices including discounting strategies (essential)
  • Experience working with physical products with multiple SKUs (preferred).
  • Experience working directly with a manufacturing department (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
