This role is responsible for developing and driving the portfolio strategy for the Promotional Products, Apparel and Gifts (PPAG) category, ensuring that our products exceed the expectations of the Vista customer. This role will lead the entire PPAG assortment for the Australia, New Zealand & Singapore (ANZS) region, as well as key product globally across the North America, Europe regions. We are looking for an effective communicator with strong strategic and analytical capabilities who can influence and lead a broad set of senior leaders and stakeholders across the ANZS and global product organisation.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and improve the product portfolio strategy for the PPAG category, identifying growth drivers, how Vista can satisfy customers, drive LTV in line with overarching business strategy and attract new customers. A key element of this includes the development and introduction of new products and the lifecycle management of the current PPAG product assortment and experience.
- Obsess over the customer – demonstrate a deep understanding of the category, markets, customers and use cases. This is both current and including potential use cases and growth opportunities for the future and how Vista can lead the market with solutions for key customer use cases. Represent the PPAG and ANZS teams with global stakeholders, ensuring local market customer needs are understood and represented in planning.
- Product and portfolio quality – End-to-end product lifecycle management for the PPAG category including New Product Introductions, optimisation of the assortment based on customer feedback and the proactive retirement of products. Adjusts the portfolio to acquire new customers and retain existing customers - with clear metrics such as loyalty (repeat rate), LTV and market share improvement.
- Drive key demand elements of the product range such as pricing, promotion (GTM strategy), merchandizing, and product experience. Lead the conversation with the functions of VP in ANZS and with global teams to ensure that performance is optimised across all metrics using ratings & reviews, quality scores, commercials.
- Build volume forecast for the portfolio, including NPI, for the purpose of volumes and budget creation. Able to complete a fully phased forecast for all products based on market knowledge and insights around customer behaviour and marketing implications taking a leadership role in the discussions with the supply chain, finance and third parties to minimise out of stocks and optimise efficiencies (including financial e.g. shipping).
You’ll be measured on how well you:
- Drive growth – you’ll have various levers to pull across areas like new product introductions, site, channel, offers, pricing and positioning to achieve our growth goals.
- Delight the customer – Improving on product quality and customer experience.
- Learn, implement & guide – we’re looking to redefine and take our product category to the next level. Fact based learning & experimentation is a must for the role. Provide guidance to more junior team members and our global stakeholders regarding the ANZS market.
- Create engagement – we’ve tasked ourselves with increasing our engagement with our customers using our product and manufacturing expertise to grow our market share and our connection with our customers
- Deliver results – ability to handle multiple complex projects and meet competing deadlines.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years of experience in category management, product management or product marketing.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or similar.
- Customer obsessed, with strong strategic, critical thinking and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced e-commerce environment is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables. (SQL knowledge is a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
