Procurement Specialist

Reports to: Senior Supply Chain Manager

Location: Vista ANZS Manufacturing - Deer Park site (on-site role)

Job Purpose:

The Procurement Specialist manages procurement activities within the region, oversees supplier relationships, and handles purchasing processes to ensure supply continuity, commercial value, and smooth operations across the ANZS Manufacturing business.

This position requires developing and managing sourcing efforts, monitoring supplier performance, assisting with inventory planning, maintaining procurement master data in SAP, and offering procurement analysis and reporting to inform business choices.

By partnering with internal participants and suppliers, this role supports better Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), supplier performance, inventory availability, and ongoing improvements in the Procurement area.

 

The Role and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve TCO and performance to achieve Vista targets.
  • Plan annual tenders, improvement projects, and negotiations calendar aligned with category and BUs' priority list.
  • Find opportunities and prepare RFIs/RFQs.
  • Suggest and complete sourcing strategy.
  • Implement price negotiations in multiple formats.
  • Co-lead supplier award decisions and follow up supplier transitions.
  • Support the development and rollout of the category strategy and attainment of annual budgets.
  • Co-develop Category Procurement Strategy, including scoping, industry analysis, business requirements, risk assessment, collaborator mapping, and category plan.
  • Supplier management: Manage the commercial relationship with designated suppliers, develop new ones, and manage and solve supplier issues when necessary.
  • Identify new potential suppliers and review supplier performance periodically.
  • Coordinate supplier work for quality issue resolution and ensure NDAs, contracts, and Terms & Conditions are signed and up to date.
  • Support business teams in introducing new products and suggest alternatives.
  • Monitor and understand industry trends and change materials and suppliers to achieve Sustainability Targets.
  • Monitor supplier risks and take action to mitigate them.
  • Maintain SAP for all procurement SKUs and follow category market intelligence.
  • Co-develop annual budget and be a trusted "go-to person" for all BU procurement needs within the category.
  • Coordinate purchasing processes within SAP, ensuring purchase orders are raised accurately and align with delegation of authority requirements.
  • Monitor inventory settings, including safety stock, reorder points and minimum/maximum stock levels, and recommend changes to support production requirements and inventory availability.
  • Monitor inventory performance, including stock turns, service levels and ageing inventory, and work with collaborators to reduce slow-moving and obsolete stock.
  • Develop procurement reporting and examine spend, demand, and lead-time data to aid procurement decisions and promote continuous improvement.
  • Support adherence to procurement policies, contractual obligations, and relevant legislative requirements, including Modern Slavery reporting requirements where applicable.
  • Engage with suppliers and distributors, including travel to supplier or customer sites as required, to support ethical sourcing, due diligence and compliance with Vista requirements.

 

Key Skills and Experience for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in regional procurement within a manufacturing or similarly complex operational environment.
  • Experience working with SAP, including maintaining procurement master data and familiarity with MRP/IBP.
  • Experience working across multiple business units and managing competing priorities.
  • Strong collaborator management and relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills, encompassing procurement evaluation, spend examination, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modelling.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage procurement activities, analyse information, apply professional judgement and recommend practical commercial solutions.
  • Experience assisting supplier performance, procurement reporting, and inventory planning to reach operational and commercial results.
