What you'll do:

Vista is looking for a Lead UX Designer to join, what we call, our "DIY" product experience category. Teams in this area cover a range of customer-facing solutions to help customers get to the best designs for their branding and marketing materials: from algorithmic design builders to quick upload and edit flows and feature-rich design tools.

 

More specifically, this Lead UX Designer will lead the way to bring the most relevant, personalized, and fitting designs to customers who are looking to explore - and get inspired by - a wide range of design templates - as they go through the process of designing, customizing, and eventually printing their branding and marketing materials.

 

Working side-by-side with a Product Manager and an Engineering Lead - in an empowered triad model - the Lead UX Designer will research and validate solutions, build a cohesive experience for both mobile and web platforms to work with print & digital products, and design interactions to ensure an unrivaled end-to-end customer journey.

 

Key responsibilities include - and are not limited to:

 

  • Conceptualize and explore transformational new product design solutions, that evolve and differentiate the Vista experience for consumers
  • Shape ambiguous ideas into concrete user stories and innovative product experiences, applying a user-centered design process; be hands-on at every stage of the design process, as well as direct more junior designers who are working alongside you.
  • Work side-by-side with your team to drive every stage of the design process—from discovery through detailed design, execution, and iteration
  • Explore, test and define information architecture frameworks, interaction models, search models, content taxonomies and other ways to help organise large volume of information, and help customers form a clear mental model of the experience
  • Create high-quality user flows, wireframes, pixel perfect designs, and prototypes or at times through collaborating with other designers
  • Act as a valuable partner to cross-functional teams, including brainstorming with collaborators around product problems, solutions, requirements and priorities.
  • Be part of the decision-making process to identify and prioritize strategic product design work and how initiatives are explored and performed upon
  • Collaborate with other designers - and teams - working in the same domain area, in order to derive common solutions. Involve and influence your design and product partners to bring alignment
  • Work as a partner to data, consumer insights, and UX research teams for foundational guidance on product direction, and new concept validation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Vista design system and marketing brand guidelines, knowing when to push beyond existing standards and patterns.
  • Always act as an evangelist for user-centered design methods across Vista.

  • 5-8+ years of experience designing experiences across touchpoints - for both consumers and businesses - within large-scale digital ecosystems.
  • 4+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content, and user research teams.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX and design skills through multiple case studies demonstrating user-centered, creative, highly conceptual, and innovative design solutions that had measurable positive impacts on users and the business.
  • Experience creating complex applications - with demonstrable success in understanding how complex technologies have a customer-facing impact.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering solutions for advanced DIY digital platforms - such as search engines, complex B2B SaaS, eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience - demonstrable through case studies - of information architecture, interaction models, content taxonomies, and search models definition
  • Experience bringing to bear quantitative and qualitative data to inspire design decisions and solutions.
  • Ability to move between high-level design and detailed design and between future concepting and near-term implementation.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with cross-functional peers, including designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Ability to present design concepts and solutions to a variety of audiences.
  • Passionate about design trends, tools, processes, and methodologies and willing to learn and share new insights with the team.
  • Highly skilled with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other digital creative tools to create high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams and/or in highly matrixed organizations.

Nice to have:

  • Relevant degree in field of Design or HCI.
  • Ability to plan, moderate, and complete a variety of goal-oriented workshops across collaborators, leading to exciting new ideas, new-found consensus, and critical alignment.
  • Experience identifying and prioritizing features, as well as participating in complex roadmap planning.
