About the Role:

Responsible for the day-to-day duties associated with the operation, maintenance and inspection of facility-related mechanical, HVAC, central chiller, fire alarm/sprinkler, and compressed air systems.  Works with the Facilities Planner to schedule preventative maintenance and repairs with in-house maintenance and third-party vendors to maximize facility-related equipment uptime.

 

What you Will Do:

  • Employ your comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing facilities to ensure the delivery of cost-effective compressed air, natural gas, fire, and environmental control systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers, plant relative humidity etc.).
  • This position will be responsible for various building and grounds-related facility projects as assigned.
  • Manage plant improvements, facility-related design upgrades, and recommendations for corrective actions
  • Manage new facility equipment installations and improvement projects
  • Ensure contractors follow all Vista safety protocols when working on site
  • Proactively coordinate with Maintenance, Operations and other support departments to prepare for work in an area
  • Manage the professional documentation and drawings for all plant systems (compressed air, natural gas, fire and security, environmental control systems etc.)
  • Manage plant-level project management of capital improvement projects, including planning, design, preparation of specifications and tender packages, implementation, engagement with procurement for contractor selection and coordination, construction management, start-up and commissioning
  • Manage an effective predictive/preventative facilities equipment maintenance program, work order procedures and adequate spare parts inventory
  • Develop the facilities' 1-year expense budget and 2-10 year capital expenditure forecast
  • After hours support in plant power engineering facility-related emergencies as required

 

What you Need:

  • Post-secondary education in a technical field is required
  • 3rd or 4th class Power Engineer or equivalent work experience is required
  • 5+ years' of experience in Facilities Management and familiarity with Ontario Building Code, Fire Code, Electrical Safety Code, TSSA and OSHA required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills in high paced, world-class manufacturing environment
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and respect deadlines
  • The ability to interact effectively with all levels and all positions within the plant organization, including executive presentations to gain approval for capital asset investment requests
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, work independently as well as on a team
  • Passion for excellence in people and processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project) and AutoCAD.  Adaptability to learn Enterprise resource Planning software such as SAP.
  • This is a hands-on position that will require a self-motivated, high-energy-level candidate
