Position Summary

The Category Manager – MRO has a pivotal role within Vista’s Procurement department, overseeing a dynamic Buying team responsible for sourcing MRO materials for Vista Facilities in Windsor and Reno. As the strategic lead for Indirect Services, this position involves negotiating multi-year complex contracts and managing supplier contracts within the MRO department. An innovative and strategic leader, the Category Manager – MRO plays a key role in continuously evaluating supplier contracts, finding opportunities for process efficiency, budget savings, and improved service. This includes a focus on continuously improving people, procurement practices, and Supplier relationship management. The role requires a keen eye for identifying areas where procurement projects can contribute to departmental goals.

What You Will Do: 

  • Leading regional Procurement MRO and indirect services for North America Operations

  • Applying expertise in Contract Management best practices to maximize value throughout the Contract Lifecycle

  • Assign and supervise tasks for a team of MRO Buyers with diverse levels of experience, while ensuring the teams continuous development

  • Creating and maintaining strategic sourcing documents while gaining deep subject matter expertise and market intelligence for the category of Indirect Services

  • Independently coordinating highly complex multi-functional strategies and Contract negotiations with integrity and confidence

  • Manage, develop, and nurture supplier relationships to maximize long-term Total Cost of Ownership and minimize business risk

  • Demonstrating a broad knowledge of business practices to facilitate effective interactions with Engineering, Operations, Accounts Payable, and Finance Departments

  • Apply experience to identify problems and find creative solutions to meet customer demands

  • Ensure timely, accurate entry and confirmation of purchase orders to support assigned duties

  • Expedite Purchase Orders as the need arises to meet stakeholder requirements and timelines

  • Duties will be assigned as required by the department manager and may vary depending on experience as well as production seasonality

What You Need:

  • University or college education majoring in business, materials management, or engineering is required. Equivalent experience will be considered

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and purchasing software

  • PMAC or APICS education is considered an asset

  • Consistent track record of guiding and fostering the growth of direct reports

  • Expertise in structuring contracts, conducting negotiations, and managing the entire contract lifecycle

  • 5-10 years experience in supplier relationship management

  • Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain Management and cost optimization 

  • Proficient in using inventory management and purchasing systems

  • Strong time management skills and adaptability to flexible working hours

  • Proficient operational skills in SAP with an expert understanding of its business connections to other fields

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Willingness to travel to vendor sites as needed

  • Capability to work independently with minimal direction for extended durations

  • Effective interpersonal management skills to navigate tight deadlines and sophisticated cross-functional interactions daily

Compensation: 
 
Canada Target Hiring Range: $84,000.00 - $115,500.00 Per Year
 
Vista is committed to transparent and competitive compensation. In alignment with our compensation philosophy, the target hiring range is based on total cash compensation. The actual salary offered will depend on factors such as education, training, and experience. Vista offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, wealth and wellness programs, as well as long-term equity incentives, subject to eligibility.
