Production Shift Lead

Your New Role  

Exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader with demonstrated or similar experience that is seeking their next challenge in their career. This role will manage a team of production operators across our shop floor. 
 
*Successful applicants will be required to undergo a physical assessment and medical as part of the pre-employment process 

What You Will Do 

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will: 

• Supervise a team of production team members 

• Coordinate and interact with cross-functional technical specialists and teams 

• People management, including supervision of staff, training, performance appraisal, discipline, safety, and grievance procedures.  

• Ensure processes are standardised and processes are being followed 

• Determine manufacturing priorities based on established production schedules 

• Initiate and drive continuous process improvement activities 

• Direct routine equipment maintenance and set up  

• Facilitate cross-functional (maintenance, purchasing, engineering, OH&S) area improvements 

• Drive departmental safety programs to ensure the safety of employees  

What you’ll bring to the role:

• An Engineering, Science or Mathematics Degree 

• Significant experience in the field of Printing (preferably in Offset) 

• Experience in technical problem-solving (mechanical, electrical and software adjustments to machines) 

• Experience in leading people is a must, preferably within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment 

• Experience in maintaining high OH&S standards 

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Methodologies 

• A strong desire to learn and develop your skillset
