Senior Software Engineer - Spain Remote

Our Team:

We are searching for an experienced WordPress developer that also has reactive front-end experience to help deliver an engaging, brand-specific, and technically excellent blog for our customers. The role will actively develop, but also guide in bringing the current blog platform to newer versions and to execute on the product vision the blog plays for the company.

What You Will Do:

• Write clean, well-tested, and efficient code to support the Vistaprint Blog
• Develop and maintain the WordPress platform – WordPress sites, custom theme and plug-ins
• Stay up to date on the latest WordPress features and make recommendations for integrating them into the environment
• Create and maintain documentation related to the platform and the code for technical and non-technical audiences
• Ensure observability, monitoring, and alerting for the platform

• At least 2 years of demonstrated proficiency in PHP and WordPress
• Site management through a hosting provider
• DB backups and restoration
• Gutenberg block development
• Theme development including a custom design system
• Experience integrating tools such as SSO and additional CMS systems into WordPress instances
• Demonstrated fundamental experience in web development technologies – HTML, CSS, REST APIs, etc.
• Experience with code version control systems using Git as the underlying technology
• Knowledge and experience in testing tools and methodologies for web applications
• A growth mindset to relentlessly learn new skills and platforms

Nice to Have:

• 4+ years in industry with additional tech experience beyond WordPress
• Working JavaScript/Typescript experience
• REACT knowledge and experience
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Knowledge in using SEO tools, analytics platforms, and experimentation tools with WordPress or other front-end technologies.
