Vista has a catalog of thousands of products that can be customized in multiple ways. As a consequence, we have many data challenges and opportunities that we work with daily. The Assortment team is dedicated to simplify and advance Product Assortment related decisions. To achieve this purpose, we work closely with several business partners to create relevant data products powered by our expertise in the product data model. Our focus lies in developing easy-to-use solutions that enable data-driven decision-making to ultimately provide the best customer experience related to assortment of products

What You Will Do: 

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will analyze data sets related to Vista's product assortment, creating visuals to help stakeholders understand product performance. You'll also assist your team in understanding data flows and identifying gaps to improve system and operational processes. The insights generated will help the Product Assortment team solve customer and business problems and explore new opportunities.

Possible workstreams you might be involved in based on current ongoing work include:

• Analyzing inventory levels in manufacturing and vendor plants and using historical sales data and market trends to optimize inventory.

• Identifying stockouts to aid the Product Operations team in improving logistics.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement inventory strategies aligned with business goals.

• Evaluating new products' performance and identifying low-performing items to streamline operations and reduce costs.

• Monitoring variable cost changes to help the Pricing team maintain margins.

• Providing data analysis on product characteristics to support Product Marketing and Operations in making informed decisions.

Your Qualifications:

• Proficient in SQL queries. You have data visualization experience (ideally in Looker, Tableau, Power BI or similar).

• 2+ years experience in an analytics environment 

• Strong problem-solving skills (Ability to translate a business ask into a very concrete question and breakdown into important analyses)

• Comfortable with programming languages for producing analysis(e.g., Python,R)

• Compelling communication and storytelling skills (Articulate your message clearly based on your audience)

Nice to Have: 

• Experience with Optimizely, Statsig, or similar experimentation tools.

• Experience in designing/monitoring and analyzing experiments (A/B, multi-variant, Bayesian, multi-arm-bandit) using statistical rigor and being able to guide collaborators on how to accurately interpret the test results.

• Skilled in exploratory analysis and statistical techniques and are driven to find important patterns and trends in the data.
