Senior Software Engineer, Fulifillment Planning - East Coast Remote

Company:  Cimpress Technology

Our Team

The Fulfillment Planning team sits at the heart of Cimpress’ manufacturing network. We build the optimization and planning software that decides where, when, and how millions of customized products get produced and shipped across a global network of manufacturing sites.

Our services are responsible for modeling plant capacity, labor, materials, and shipping options. They use mathematical optimization, such as linear and constraint solvers, to make complex trade-offs between cost, throughput, and on-time delivery. The decisions our systems make directly affect the on-time delivery of millions of customized products produced and shipped every year. We work directly with plant operations, shipping, and product teams to turn real-world constraints into stable, explainable software systems used every day on the production floor.

As a Senior Software Engineer on this squad, you will build and improve important parts of our production planning, and shipping planning systems, helping our software make better decisions and helping partners understand and trust those decisions.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver complex features and service improvements from technical design through implementation, rollout, and maintenance.
  • Build and evolve optimization-driven systems using our modern stack: C#/.NET, AWS, event-driven services, and data-intensive backends.
  • Partner with product, plant operations, shipping, support, and other engineering teams to clarify requirements, understand real-world constraints, and translate them into reliable software solutions.
  • Take ownership of technical quality in the areas you work on, including testing, maintainability, observability, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Investigate production issues using logs, metrics, and data analysis, identify root causes, and implement improvements to code, configuration, and team practices.
  • Contribute to design discussions and code reviews, offering thoughtful input on trade-offs and helping improve the reliability and clarity of our systems.
  • Act as a resource to other engineers on the squad by sharing context, reviewing code, pairing when helpful, and supporting strong engineering practices across the team.

Your Qualifications

At VistaPrint, we are striving to hire individuals that add new ideas and perspectives to our teams and enhance our culture. No matter your background or work experience, we strongly encourage you to apply—even if you feel that you don’t meet the exact requirements or have the same qualifications. You might be a great candidate for this or other opportunities.

  • 5+ years of experience building and operating commercial software systems.
  • Strong experience with object-oriented backend development and web-based services, ideally with C#/.NET.
  • Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider, including deploying and operating services in production.
  • Solid experience with databases and SQL, plus comfort working with data to investigate system behavior and production issues.
  • A track record of independently delivering moderately to highly complex features or service improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with engineering best practices such as testing, code reviews, CI/CD, security fundamentals, logging, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with optimization, operations research, or scheduling, such as linear or integer programming, constraint solvers, heuristics, or other decision automation systems.
  • Background in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain systems.
  • Experience building systems that balance trade-offs across many customers, such as routing, allocation, capacity management, or prioritization.
  • Experience working in a remote-first, multi-time-zone team.
